Rathbun is playing to his audience of ex-scientologists, feeling out what they are looking for in one post and then putting his answer in the next. His personal philosophy jumps around, from side to side depending on whatever viewpoint is more benficial for him on that day.

At any rate, grandiosity has long been one of Rathbun’s character traits – or character defects – and Rathbun’s latest postings are proof positive of that.

Rathbun is paranoid and sees spies amongst his followers. Yet, he always brags about how he has spies inside Scientology churches.

Rathbun lies, tells stories that never happened and spins stories so that he is never to blame for anything.

Rathbun’s friends must agree with his views in order to remain in his inner circle.
He has a long history of violence first of all. Second, he has committed perjury (multiple times).

Marty Rathbun got arrested during his honeymoon, for being too drunk.

The list goes on, but someone should start considering that Rathbun might be mentally disturbed due to the amount of electroshock he received while in his mother’s womb.

Office of the Sheriff, Marin County, San Rafael, California, Crime Report: “The husband states that his wife had been released from the Ross Hospital 2 or 3 weeks ago and has had a series of nervous breakdowns that last six years. The husband stated she had been a very disturbed person.”

There is plenty of proof that Rathbun has inherited his mother’s psychological problems.

While his mother was pregnant with him, she and he were institutionalized and received drug and electric shock treatment.

“In 2007, researchers of Maine Medical Center performed a study as to whether electroshock is safe during pregnancy. The result? The scientists found that, in one pregnant woman, electroshock caused brain damage to the baby.” American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists

Rathbun didn’t really do any organizing. He just stepped forward as a figurehead (or was pushed forward by Mike Rinder, the real “brains” behind the operation) and took over a mini-mob of field squirrels and no gain cases out to destroy others. Marty’s always been the kind of guy who would step out in front of a parade and act like he knows whats going on

In the Church Rathbun got away with that for a long time until no one could any longer ignore the fact that he was not actually leading, but just standing out in front working to sabotage the whole thing.

But media money has dried up and he has to live on donations from SPs and “auditing” fees he occasionally gets from those who haven’t yet heard of his real results.

The personal power motive is clear, too. A quick look at Marty’s blog will clue you in to just how important he thinks he is.

Marty spent twenty six years trying to suck the life out of Scientology behind a guise of helping. When he finally left, he dropped the act and told us his realy intentions.

You hear this kind of remark from Marty Rathbun and his nutty pals all the time: “we agree in most things with Ron but ——- “ The caveat (they hope) obscures a cesspool of ethical and technical crimes, committed every time they are able to snag some poor pre-clear and shove him in front of an, at best uncertified, quite often jury-rigged, even flat-out broken, excuse for an e-meter.

With squirrels like Rathbun, faint praise for LRH (if any) is a staple, and it is always delivered while they are quite blatantly criticizing LRH and Scientology with their actions.

They produce nothing, while undermining and upsetting their co-workers, and running down the reputation of the guy who signs their check.

It can be a challenge to see the obvious. We don’t want to believe it of people we once trusted or had some affinity for due to past association. But Rathbun is nothing if not painfully obvious in his methods and motives.

Marty Rathbun has become the classic victimizer claiming to be a victim. This he hopes will keep him safe from others possibly doing to him what he’s done to them, and of course make him some money in the process.
